Madhya Pradesh High Court has quashed the MP NEET PG 2024 state merit list and asked NBEMS to prepare a fresh merit list as a verdict for the petition filed by NEET PG candidates who challenged the normalisation process accepted while preparing the merit list for admission purposes.

MP High Court News

Madhya Pradesh High Court has quashed the MP NEET PG 2024 state merit list; granting relief to the postgraduate medical aspirants who challenged the double normalisation process used while creating the state merit list. Further, the court has also asked the exam conducting body, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to prepare a fresh state rank list for the in-service candidates.

The court stated "The state merit list of NEET PG 2024 examination for the State of Madhya Pradesh cannot be sustained and is accordingly quashed. National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences is directed to prepare the State merit list afresh by awarding the incentivised marks to the in-service candidates not on their raw scores but on their normalised scores." As reported by medical dialogues.

Meanwhile, the former Chairman of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), Dr. Rohan Krishnan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "In 2024 #NEETPG Scams can have multiple names …… #Normalisation #EWS #In service quota God Help our Poor aspirant, we feel for you. See how the High Court of Madhya Pradesh is also shocked by the answers of NbeIndia.

What is the Case?

Reportedly, several NEET PG candidates had submitted a plea before the Madhya Pradesh High Court challenging the NEET PG normalisation process and the merit list issued by the Madhya Pradesh state registered candidates for MD/ MS counselling in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

The candidates pointed out that NEET PG 2024 scores were normalisation for the preparation of the merit list. Meanwhile, the MP state has normalised the scores for the second time while creating the merit list for candidates registered for the state-level counselling process, resulting in the reduction of ranking in the merit of the state despite their higher ranking in the NEET PG merit list.
