NEET PG 2025 Counselling on Hold: Aspirants Share Fears and Frustrations on Social Media

The NEET PG 2025 Counselling was expected to begin soon after its results came in August. A Supreme Court order last week, has paused it.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is yet to announce NEET PG 2025 All India Quota (AIQ) counselling schedule as the case is pending in Supreme Court. NEET PG aspirants are sharing their concerns, confusion, disappointment on social media platforms.
The delay in announcement is due to a pending Supreme Court review on transparency plea filed by some of the candidates, this prolonging uncertainty for thousands of future doctors.
The MCC oversees counselling for 50% of India’s postgraduate medical seats. The NEET PG 2025 Counselling was expected to begin soon after its results came in August. A Supreme Court order last week, on September 26, asking National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to respond to a transparency plea has paused it. NBEMS has been given two weeks to respond.
On X (formerly twitter), aspirants are sharing their concerns how NEET PG Counselling delay is affecting them, a student from Uttar Pradesh tweeted:"It’s been more than two months, and still no dates for AIQ counselling. Feels like our career timelines are slipping away. We deserve clarity"
Dr. Aditya Kumar writes: "Almost 2 months to NEET PG & no sign of counselling. Lag raha joining 2026 mein hogi is baar."
A first-generation medical aspirant from Karnataka posted: "Can someone explain what is happening? Every article says something different. I don’t know who to believe. I am stressed and confused."
The emotional strain among students is clear, many of the aspirants have expressed that this uncertainty is taking a toll on their mental well being. A NEET PG aspirant from Kerala wrote on Facebook: "We have been preparing for years, and now everything is in limbo. It’s not just about admission, it’s about our future. We need answers."
Another aspirant from Delhi shared, "First generation doctor here… no mentor, no clear information. Every day feels like a setback."
Those following the situation closely say such delays could ripple beyond the current batch of aspirants. Medical experts are of the view that postponement in counselling will impact start of academic session, hospital staffing schedules, and even future batches of medical training.
Though the petition is pending in the apex court, NEET PG aspirants are demanding MCC to share updates soon. Until Supreme Court delivers its verdict, timeline for NEET PG 2025 AIQ counselling remains unclear.
