NEET PG 2025 cutoff to be reduced soon

NEET PG 2025 cutoff will be reduced soon for seat allocation. In an official notification, MCC has announced cutoff will be reduced for rest of counselling rounds. Cutoff is reduced if seats remain vacant for allotment. MCC has already completed two rounds of NEET PG 2025 counselling for seat allocation. Dates and schedule for NEET PG counselling 2025 round-3 will be released only after cutoff reduction.

“Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of DGHS will upload the AIQ/State schedule for Round 3 of PG Counselling 2025, once the process of revised percentile eligibility for participation in Round 3 of PG Counselling 2025 is completed,” official release said.

Last year also cutoff was reduced for round-3 counselling. Cut off was reduced by 15 percentile for general category. For SC, ST category, cutoff was reduced by 10 percentile in 2024. This year also MCC is expected to reduce NEET PG 2025 cutoff by 10 to 15 percentile.

Why NEET PG Cutoff is reduced?

Reason behind NEET PG cutoff reduction is to encourage students to participate in counselling rounds to fill seats. Usually what happens that seats in top branches and colleges are filled in round-1 and round-2 NEET PG counselling. Most of students who scored god rank take admission through round-1 and round-2 in branches like Radiology, Medicine, Surgery etc. Students have less interest in other branches and colleges and decide to appear next year to get top rank. This is the reason percentile is reduced to allow more students to participate and get seat.
