The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has reduced the NEET PG 2025 cutoff for round 3 and subsequent rounds of NEET PG 2025 counselling. The NEET PG 2025 cutoff has been reduced to zero percentile to fill 18,000 vacant seats. A PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the dilution of merit-based selection and medical standards. The NEET PG 2025 cutoff has been reduced to zero for SC/ ST category. As per the revised cutoff for NEET PG 2025, SC, ST and OBC category students who have obtained minus 40 will now be eligible for admission to PG medical courses. The NEET PG exam carries a total of 800 marks.
The medical fraternity across the country has raised concerns regarding the negative NEET PG 2025 cutoff.
A user on the social media platform, 'X' wrote, "Someone who just sits for the exam will become a doctor and do surgeries. This country has no future for hardworking people".
NEET PG 2025 Cutoff Reduced: PIL Filed in Supreme Court
A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court. The Plea challenged the NEET PG 2025 cutoff reduction to zero, marking it as a mockery of the medical education system. The petition says that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - postgraduate (NEET PG) was implemented to prevent admissions based on donations and ensure merit-based selection in medical education. However, reducing NEET PG 2025 cutoff to zero defeats the purpose.

The hearing date challenging NEET PG 2025 cutoff is yet to be notified. The apex board will make the judgment after hearing the petition for the betterment of the medical education system.
