The CSIR NET exam is conducted twice a year for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor in science subjects. The June session is one of the main examination cycles, and a large number of science graduates and postgraduate students appear for this examination.
CSIR NET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Following are eligibility criteria for CSIR NET
- Candidates must have completed MS or equivalent degreeBE/B.Tech, B.Pharm, Integrated BS-MS, 4-year BS, or MBBS from a recognized university/institution.
- The minimum marks required are - 55% for General/OBC/EWS candidates and 50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- Maximum age is 28 years as of 1 January 2026. Age relaxation applies: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- Lectureship (NET): There is no upper age limit.

Once announced, the CSIR NET 2026 June session notification will include exam dates and schedule, eligibility criteria and age relaxations, subject-wise syllabus and exam pattern, application start and last date, and fee submission details.
