RRB NTPC Exam 2026: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will conduct the RRB NTPC exam for CBT 1 Graduate level posts CEN no. 06/2025 from March 16 to 27. It will be conducted across the country in multiple shifts. The selection process consists of CBT 1 (preliminary exam ), CBT 2 (Mains exam) and Typing Skill Test (TST) or Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). In RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam there are three sections namely General Awareness, Mathematics and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Total number of questions asked are 100 and marks also 100. RRB NTPC Exam 2026: Important Topics to revise

One of the most important sections of the RRB NTPC 2026 exam is General Awareness. It accounts nearly 40% of the questions asked in the CBT 1 exam. Candidates can check below the subject-wise important topics to revise that will help in scoring well in the examination. 
General Awareness
Generally in this section, topics asked are mainly based on current events and general knowledge. General awareness section carries high weightage in the RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam. Some of the important topics to revise for the exam are provided below:
Current Affairs: ( covering national and international events, government schemes, sports, awards, developments related to India,etc.
Indian History: Revise ancient, medieval and modern history. Main focus can be given to important leaders, Indian's cultural heritage, Indian freedom struggle, etc.
Indian Geography: Areas to focus on rivers, mountains, climate, states, major cities, natural resources, etc.
Indian Economy: Terminology of budget, Five Year plan and its importance, famous persons, institutions and its importance like RBI, SEBI, etc., finance and banking sector and other National and International Events.
General Science: Basic concepts in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Everyday science and technological advancements, etc.
Mathematics
This section tests candidates arithmetic ability and basic mathematical concepts. Some of the important topics are provided below:
Simplification, number system, decimals and fractions, LCM and HCF, Ratio and proportion, percentage, mensuration, time and work, time and distance, simple interest and compound interest, profit and loss, elementary algebra, geometry and trigonometry, elementary statistics, data interpretation, etc.
General Intelligence and Reasoning
This section basically evaluates candidates logical thinking and analytical ability. SOme of the important topics are mentioned below:
Analogies, coding and decoding, number and alphabet series, mathematical operations, similarities and differences, blood relations, analytical reasoning, syllogism, jumbling, venn diagram, data sufficiency, puzzle, statement and conclusion, decision making, maps and graph interpretation, statement argument, statement assumption, etc.
