UPSC CSE 2026 Registration Window Closes Today; Check Details Below
UPSC CSE, IFS registration 2026 will end today on February 24, 2026. Read below to know eligibility criteria and how to apply for the civil services.
UPSC CSE exam 2026 registration: Union Public Service Commission will close the registration for Civil Services Examination and the Indian Forest Services examination 2026 at 6 pm today.
Candidates interested in applying for the civil services must apply at the official portal upsc.gov.in. They are advised to complete the applications well before deadline to avoid any last minute technical problems.
According to official notification, which was released on February 4, 2026, there are a total of 933 vacancies under the Central government. The candidates will first have to appear in the common preliminary examination for recruitment to both Civil Services and the Indian Forest Service.
The candidates can appear in Main examination only after qualifying the prelims. The preliminary examination will be held on May 24, 2026. Main examination will start on August 21, 2026.

- The age limit of the candidates should be between 21 to 32 years.
- They must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university.
- Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories in accordance with government rules.
How to Apply for UPSC CSE, IFS exam 2026
See below steps to apply for the preliminary examination:
- Go to official website upsconline.nic.in.
- If not registered, complete One Time Registration (OTR)
- Login on the website and select CSE 2026 or IFS 2026 application link.
- Enter the personal, educational and contact details carefully.
- Upload the required photograph, documents and signature.
- Pay application fee
- Submit the form
Download and save confirmation page for future reference.
The complete selection process includes the following stages - preliminary examination, main examination, interview, DV, and medical examination. These stages are in sequence and to enter another stage it is mandatory requirement to clear the previous stage.
