Providing students access to a truly international studio calibre training program


Mumbai, May 28, 2010: FX School enters into an exclusive partnership with FXPHD to offer the best visual effects and CG training the world has to offer, to the students of Mumbai. Through this partnership, FXPHD will bring its excellent studio calibre training to the students and FX School will add localization to what is otherwise a purely online self-learning course. FX School will provide the infrastructure and facilities that students will need to learn and practice also giving students an opportunity to capture their own footage through use of its professional studio facilities and equipments rather than use only those provided in the course.  Furthermore, students whose primary language is not English will also now have easy access to this training.

About FXPHD


FXPHD is a vfx, production, post-production training program led by professionals. They offer both application and craft-based courses. About David Edgar


David is a member of SMPTE and well recognized and respected as an industry professional with broad experience in video and software based systems.  Working initially in broadcast television, he moved in post production and equipment supply technical roles before establishing Future Reality in 1993, at the start of the software revolution in post production.  David went on to be Discreet’s Regional Manager for Australia and New Zealand for 2 years.  After returning to Future Reality in 2001 David set about redefining the company and developing a new services side to the business, including consulting, systems integration and technical support.
In 2002 David partner up with Mike Seymour and John Montgomery to start FXPHD, the highly successful online "university" site for industry professions covering post-production, animation, editing and visual effects, in feature film or video.
David is also a director of Sohnet Pty Ltd, the Australian arm of the global network provider for the film industry.

 

About Leonard Coster


Leonard is an inventor and physicist who has been involved in the film industry for over 15 years.  He specializes in engineering solutions to workflow problems in electronic, optical, mechanical processes and software.


Leonard is the founder of Speed Wedge, who started designing and manufacturing film recorders and scanners and pioneered digital intermediate workflow.  He has gone on to understand and solving stereoscopic workflow and designs and manufacture specialized camera rigs for film production. His software work includes authoring the IOD Calc, the iPhone Calculator App for stereographers and designer & project leader for EVOS media group - on-line motion picture workflow collaboration toolset used by the BBC, Discover Channel and McCann-Erickson


He is also co-founder of E3D creative an LA based stereo film production & post production facility. He also consults to daVinci on stereo post production workflow, and works with FXPHD on stereoscope production workflow.
