MA in Visual Effects and Animation at JMI
AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University recently launched a full-time master's course – MA in Visual Effects and Animation. The course was introduced as a Postgraduate Diploma in 2007. However, it has now been converted into a master’s degree course from 2013 onwards. The course is aimed towards bridging the gap between supply and demand of skilled personnel in the graphics and animation industry.
About the course:
This specialised course allows students to develop personal traits and skills to explore career paths in Visual Effects and Animation. Students will be trained to use industry standard softwares like Maya, After Effects and Flash.
Course duration: Two years (4 semesters)
Eligibility:
- Graduation in any discipline (10+2+3) with not less than 50% marks in aggregate.
- Applicants must be proficient in Windows and it is desirable to have knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
- Students are not required to submit their portfolio & Statement of Purpose encapsulating all their extracurricular activities at the time of submission of application form, but are expected to bring it in case of selection at the interview stage. The examination will comprise of a written test and an interview. Students selected in the written test will be called for the interview.
Written exam: 200 marks
Interview: 45 marks
Portfolio: 55 marks
