20 percentile criteria continues for JEE 2014
Putting an end to speculations over the fate of IIT aspirants looking to enter the next batch, The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has concluded that the 20 percentile criteria that determines students' eligibility for admissions to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) will continue to be followed for the 2014 exam.
JAB members met to review the 2013 exam and propose any necessary changes, where it was decided that the JEE pattern would remain unchanged for one more year to have a closer assessment of the system. The exam might be conducted on May 25, 2014.

Under the two-tier system implemented in 2013, students have to clear the JEE-Main and JEE-Advanced. Aspirants, who successfully qualify these two, also have to be among the top-20 percentile scorers in Class XII exams of their respective boards.

The next IIT Council meeting is expected to be held on Sept 3, while JAB meeting is scheduled for September 15 at IIT Kharagpur.
