7 out of 20 CMAT toppers from Mumbai
The results of the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2012 were declared on March 11, 2012. This was the first time the national-level exam was held by AICTE as a common entrance test to all management institutions approved by it. Though the idea was to make it the sole management entrance exam from 2013, the Supreme Court has ruled that CMAT scores will be one of the management entrance exams that the institutes can accept besides other management entrance exams that they use for admission.
Though, the CMAT topper Mr. Vijay Kalyan Jha is from Delhi, seven out of the top 20 rank holders in the CMAT exam are from Mumbai. Mr. Jha scored 327 out of 400. The top scoring female candidate is Ms Aeshna Ambardar from Chandigarh. She ranked 12th in the overall CMAT merit list. Around 60,000 candidates took CMAT 2012. Two candidates each from Delhi, Pune and Bangalore have made it to the Top 20 ranks of CMAT at all-India level.
Amongst the Mumbai toppers, Mr. Sujit Kumar Birendranath ranked second at all-India level. He scored 322 out of 400.
Full CMAT score card with sectional cut-offs can be downloaded from official AICTE website from March 16, 2012.
