CMAT is a single-window entrance test to all institutes approved by AICTE offering postgraduate management programmes. CMAT 2013, is scheduled to be conducted from 19th to 22nd May 2013.

Conducted by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education),CMAT is a single-window entrance test to all institutes approved by AICTE offering postgraduate management programmes. It is also a gateway to the MBA programmes offered by university departments of various states. The exam is conducted twice a year and the first CMAT was successfully held in September 2012.

The first CMAT exam was conducted from September 27, 2012 - October 1, 2012 while the second one was held from Feb 21, 2013 - Feb 25, 2013 2013.

However, on the special request of few state governments, All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to conduct an extra Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) in May 2013. This additional exam is scheduled to be conducted from May 19, 2013 - May 22, 2013

Obtained at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying

Any recognised Bachelors degree of minimum 3 years duration and a minimum of

5 years relevant managerial / supervisory experience.

  • There will be negative marking for wrong answers for this three hour paper (180 mins). For every wrong answer, aspirants will have one mark deducted.
  • At the test venue, each candidate will be seated at a desk with a computer terminal and he/she will be provided with a scratch paper for calculations.
  • After the test, candidate must leave the scratch paper at the desk.
  • Rough work cannot be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing will be allowed inside the testing room.
  • No breaks will be given during the test.

A Trial test was conducted from March 10 onwards for the candidates to have a feel of the online test and navigation functionality. Candidates were advised to go through them carefully to familiarise themselves with the screens, layout, and  navigation.
