Q. According to you, what is the minimum time frame needed to prepare well for AIPMT? How long did you prepare for it? What was your preparation strategy?
I started preparing in 11th standard and that worked quite well. You need to study your school portions regularly and practice MCQs as much as possible.
Q. Is it necessary to join a coaching institute or is self-study good enough? What study plan did you follow for your prep?
I won't say its imperative to join a coaching institute but I had joined one and it was quite beneficial as those people know about the pattern of AIPMT very well and if you have a good guidance things are always easier. If someone is not going for coaching but is studying NCERT thoroughly, it’s good enough but I recommend that everyone should join all India test series as that lets you know where you stand among lakhs of students.
Q. How did you divide your time between chapters/section? Which chapters/sections did you spend more time on?
Read every chapter in depth as it is being taken in your school or coaching, get you concepts right. Don’t ignore any chapter. For those last crucial days, divide your time wisely. Pay more attention to your strengths. If you know some topic well, you cannot afford to lose marks there. Know the weightage for all chapters.
Q. How did you work on improving your weak areas?
Weak areas should be given more time in the initial days.try to understand. You cannot and should not think that medical entrance is just about mugging up.
Q. How much time did you spend on revision?
Finish your syllabus well in time before exams so that you can revise.
Q. Any useful study material/ reference books you can recommend to AIPMT aspirants?
Besides NCERT, I read modules by Aakash coaching Institute and practiced past year questions (do that from any book) in the end.
