All about JAM 2014
IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc) is an entrance exam conducted by the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) for admissions to M.Sc. (Two Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc. - Ph.D. Dual Degree and other Post-Bachelor’s Degree programs at IITs and to the Integrated Ph.D. programs at IISc, Bangalore.
JAM 2014 is scheduled to be conducted on February 9, 2014.
JAM 2014: What’s new?
- The application Forms for JAM 2014 will NOT be sold through Banks.
- Applications will be accepted only through an online process.
- CA and GP Test Papers have been discontinued.
- Entry to the Programs which required a candidate to qualify in GP-Test Paper will be through PH.
- MCA, M.Tech in Geological Technology and M.Tech in Geophysical Technology will not be offered from 2014-15 sessions.
- The Test Papers CY, GG, MA, MS and PH will consist of two parts, namely, Part-I and Part-II. Part-I will be Objective and Part-II will be Subjective. In each of the above Test Papers, a certain number of candidates will be short-listed based on the performance in Part-I. The Subjective part (Part-II) will be evaluated only for those short-listed candidates. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in both Part-I and Part-II.
- Application fee too has changed.

Structure of JAM 2014:
- With 7 test papers, aspirants of JAM 2014 will have to appear in either one or two Test Paper(s). This will subject to the restrictions imposed by the test Schedule and on payment of requisite additional fee for the Second Test Paper as applicable.
- Aspirants who wish to appear in two test papers must ensure that these test papars are not scheduled in the same session.
