Summer placements at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Tiruchirappalli and Ranchi is over while the process is still on at other leading IIMs. Here’s a quick snapshot of what happened at IIM summer placements this season:

 IIM Ranchi Summer Placements 2013-2014:

 The summer placement report of IIM Ranchi (IIM-R) is as follows:

1. Number of offers and participating companies: About 65 firms made job offers to 154 graduates. Number of companies visiting the campus increased significantly by 50% (from last year) with 34 companies hiring for the first time. 

2. Salary details: The highest stipend offered is INR 1.70 lakh while the average is INR 52,000.

5. Other Details: IIM-R is the first and only IIM to offer a full-time two-year PGD in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM). A total of 47 offers were made to the first batch (Class of 2012-2013) of 41 students. The institute also signed an MoU with IBM for setting up a Business Analytics Lab.

IIM Tiruchirappalli (PGP) Summer Placements 2013-2014:

The summer placement report of IIM Tiruchirappalli (PGP) is as follows:

1. Number of offers and participating companies: IIM-T successfully concluded its summer internship placements for this year with 39 recruiters offering internships to 92 students. About 20 were participating in the process for the first time.
2. Entrepreneurship: Ten students opted out of placements, preferring to work for start-ups and pursue specific interests in niche sectors.
3. Salary Details: The highest stipend offered on campus was INR 1 lakh, while the average was INR 41,000.
4. Sector-wise Break-up: A set of diverse roles have been offered to students. Domains include Private Equity and Corporate Banking, Sales and Advertising, Supply Chain and Manufacturing, Financial Consulting, Small–Enterprise Consulting, Public Policy and General Management.

IIM Rohtak (PGP) Summer Placements 2012-2013:

 The summer placement report of IIM Rohtak (PGP) is as follows:

1. Number of offers and participating companies: Indian Institute of Management Rohtak successfully concluded its summer internship placements for this year with 53 recruiters participating in the process for the PGP batch of2012-14. The enthusiastic participation of the industry led to the placement of the batch of 125 students across multiple domains.
2. Salary Details: The highest stipend offered on campus was INR 1 lakh.
3. Sector-wise break up: Breaking all the myths, 27% of the batch with an average work experience of 36 months was placed in the Marketing domain. The recruiters offered profiles spanning across marketing research, services marketing, brand strategy, sales, rural marketing, B2B marketing, advertising etc. 26% of the batch was placed in vivid and challenging profiles in Finance such as econometric modeling, investment banking, corporate finance, trading, retail banking, project finance, equity research, risk management, treasury.

IIM Bangalore Summer Placements 2012-13

The summer placement report of IIM Bangalore (PGP) is as follows:

1. Number of offers and participating companies: Around 126 companies offered internships to 377 students of IIM Bangalore's batch of 2014.
2. Number of International Offers: Students were recruited for positions all over India and as many as 35 are expected to intern abroad.
3. Exclusive/First-time/Coveted recruiters: The first-timers included Facebook, Accel Partners, Catamaran Ventures, Merck, Alshaya, EBay, GE, Sony, Shell, DuPont and Uninor.
4. Largest Recruiter: Big recruiters at IIMB this year were The Boston Consulting Group with 12 offers, McKinsey with 11 offers and Accenture Management Consulting with 10 offers. Procter & Gamble recruited 7 interns, Amazon made 9 offers while ITC extended 8. Aditya Birla Group took on 9 students.
5. Sector-wise break up: While the financial services segment absorbed around 27% of all students, 22% of acceptances were in the management consulting sector. Sales & marketing accounted for 25% of the batch, IT for 12%, Operations 7% and offers in general management/leadership areas were about 7%.
6. Other facts: The IIMB Summer Internship process was completed in eight slots spread over four days. Five students with more than 34 months of work experience opted out of summer internship to pursue other opportunities.

IIM Lucknow Summer Placements 2012-13

The summer placement report of IIM Lucknow (PGP) is as follows:

1. Number of offers and participating companies: The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM-L) has placed its batch size of 453 students. The students bagged over 500 offers from over 220 companies that participated in the process.
2. Number of International Offers: Among international recruiters Deutsche Bank GMC, HUL, P&G, ABG, Coke and PepsiCo extended a total of approximately 20 international offers. It also saw participation from hedge funds from Singapore and Hong Kong.
3. Salary Statistics i.e. Minimum, Average and Maximum amounts: “Even with respect to stipend, over last year’s figures, IIM Lucknow saw a near 20% increase across all recruiters with the average stipend being close to Rs 50,000 per month for domestic locations,” the institute said in a press statement.
4. Largest Recruiter: The biggest recruiters in terms of offers made were Amazon (13), Accenture Management Consulting (10), Headstrong Consulting (10) and Aditya Birla Group (9) closely followed by other regular recruiters who reinstated their faith in the quality of talent at IIM Lucknow.
5. Sector-wise break up: Consulting offers went up with over 21% of the offers coming from prestigious firms. Around 36% of the offers came from marketing firms. Hiring by financial firms at IIM Lucknow has been a rising trend over the past few years with over 18% of the offers

IIM Kozhikode Summer Placements 2012-13

The summer placement report of IIM Kozhikode (PGP) is as follows:

1. Number of offers and participating companies: According to a press release issued by IIM Kozhikode, 366 students, including those from PGP and FPM courses, participated in the summer placement with more than 140 recruiters making internship offers. 
2. Salary Statistics i.e. Minimum, Average and Maximum amounts: The highest stipend offered was around Rs 150,000. The average stipend per month was Rs 30,000 pm this year as compared to Rs 27,000 in the previous year.
3. Exclusive/coveted/First-time recruiters: One of the popular rock bands, Parikrama, participated in the summer placement and made an offer to a student for social media marketing for its band and performances during the internship period. For the first time, one national-level political party has offered internship programs to IIM-K students.
4. Sector-wise break up: Sales & marketing and finance emerged as the most preferred verticals this year with more than 50 per cent of the batch opting for these profiles. IT and ITeS (IT-enabled services) companies emerged as the biggest recruiter offering jobs to 25 per cent of the batch, followed by FMCG and manufacturing firms at 24 per cent. BFSI and consulting were the next two sectors offering jobs to 16 per cent and 13 per cent of students, respectively.
5. Other facts: Niche sectors like media, healthcare and sports management also made their presence felt. Twenty students grabbed international offers for their summer training.
   One global investment bank, an FMCG giant, a major business house and a few medium-scale enterprises with international operations have offered overseas roles.
