CBSE invites applications for CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child. Students studying in class 11, 12 in CBSE school can apply here. Click to know more….The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) invites applications for CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child 2019 for girls studying in class 11 and 12 in CBSE school. Students or parents of single girls can apply online on the official website. The last date to apply is October 18, 2019. The scheme aims to promote higher education for a girl child.

Eligibility criteria

All single girl students, who have secured 60% or more marks in CBSE Class 10 exam and are studying Class 11 or 12 in school affiliated with CBSE can apply. Girls whose tuition fee is not more than Rs 1,500 p.m. during the academic year, shall be considered for the scholarship. In the next two years, the total enhancement in tuition fee in such schools shall not be more than 10 per cent of the tuition fee charged. The number of scholarships may vary every year.

NRI candidates with a tuition fee of Rs 6,000 per month are also eligible to apply. The scholarship will only be awarded to Indian nationals.

How to apply

Candidates need to visit the official website to fill in the application form online. They are required to follow the format given on the website for affidavit. Further, the school principal has to attest the required documents as the student enters class 11 after clearing class 10. Students can follow the steps provided below to apply-

  • Visit the CBSE official website or click on - http://cbse.nic.in/Scholarship/Webpages/Guidelines and AF.html
  • Click on the scholarship link provided
  • Enter her roll number and date of birth (as printed on the Class 10 mark sheet)
  • Enter all particulars carefully and submit the form.
  • Make a note of the 'registration number' that appears on the page. This will be used while uploading documents and also for all other future communication.
  • Print the undertaking as provided in the 'Guidelines Document', fill it, paste the photograph and get it attested from the school.
  • Prepare the affidavit according to the format provided in the 'Guidelines Document'
  • Get the above two documents scanned, i.e. 'affidavit' and 'undertaking' to create PDF file of up to 1MB size.
  • Go to the 'upload document' option and upload these documents
  • Go to print 'confirmation page' option and generate the confirmation page.
  • Only those applicants who complete the application process successfully will be able to generate a confirmation page. Applicants who are not able to generate confirmation page are not successful, and their application will not be processed.

Scholarship

Selected students will be awarded Rs 500 per month which can be renewed every year for a maximum period of two years.
