Kolkata Colleges Reopening: The colleges in Kolkata have made attendance of professors mandatory in order to prepare them for the upcoming online examinations. According to the reports, in order to prepare for practical classes and meetings related to the academic workings of the colleges the attendance has been made mandatory for all working days or for a few days a week. Students can expect that the odd semester exams will begin from the second week of March in most of the colleges. While speaking to the media, the principal of JD Birla Institute, Deepali Singhee stated that all teachers are coming to the colleges since the second half of last week and conducting classes online. Meanwhile, the students will be attending the classes from home.

In order to avoid interruption during online classes, a few of the colleges also installed strong routers for a better Wi-Fi connection. To help students more precisely, the teachers who teach science subjects can take pictures, shoot videos in college laboratories and share the same with students. While it has been made mandatory for teachers to attend colleges twice a week, they are also asked to conduct online classes from college whenever they come to the campus to attend meetings.

Meanwhile, it has been decided that annual exams for classes 9 and 11 for the 2020-21 academic year will be conducted via offline mode. Reports also states that despite receiving several requests from parents and students, the schools decided to conduct offline exams. The state reopened the schools for Classes 9 to 12 from February 12.
