Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology Ph.D Entrance Test 2013
Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad is conducting an entrance exam for its PhD programmes. CCMB PhD entrance test will be conducted on January 22, 2013 at Hyderabad. Students successful in the written test will have to appear for the interview rounds on January 23 and 24, 2013.
Candidates who crack the interview round too will have to participate in the final round of group discussion on January 25, 2013.
Successful candidates would be able to pursue PhD in the broad areas of:
- Bioinformatics,
- Biology of Infection,
- Biology of Macromolecules,
- Cell Biology,
- Chromatin Biology,
- Developmental Biology,
- Epigenetics,
- Genetics,
- Genomics,
- Molecular Biology,
- Nanobiology,
- Plant Molecular Biology, and
- Protein Structure & Function.
Eligibility for CCMB, Hyderabad PhD entrance exam
Students who have a Master’s degree in any branch of science with a national-level fellowship, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Pharmacy with 85 percentile scores in GATE or GPAT, or a MBBS degree can appear for the exam.
However, postgraduates in Science or Engineering with GATE scores or candidates who have only qualified CSIR-UGC (NET) are not eligible for the exam.
The upper age limit of a candidate is 28 years as on December 7, 2012. For SC, ST, OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates, the upper age limit is 33 years.
Point to note
Eligible candidates, who have qualified in fellowships like CSIR-UGC NET, ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF or any other equivalent fellowships, but have not registered for the exam already, can appear in the exam directly.
They just have to walk in with the proof of their qualification at 7:30 am on the day of the written test (January 22, 2013) at 7.30 AM into CCMB, Hyderabad.
