Changes have been made to the exam pattern of Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) from 2013 onwards.

Changes have been made in the exam pattern of Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) from 2013 onwards.  

Conducted by XLRI School of Business and Human Resource, Jamshedpur, XAT 2013 is scheduled to be held on January 6 from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm.  The registration process has already begun from August 20 and will go on till November 30. The exam will be conducted in 44 cities across India and three cities outside India.

New Test Pattern of XAT:

The duration of the exam has been extended to three hours (it was 2 hour 30 minutes earlier). XAT is spread over two parts:

Part I:

  • Data Interpretation and Quantitative Ability
  • Analytical Reasoning and Decision making
  • Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning

The time allotted for this section is 2 hours 20 minutes.

Part II:

In the second part students will have to write an essay and will have to answer some questions on general awareness. For this section, students will be given 40 minutes. (Read more)

Through this exam, you can get admission into:

Eligibility criteria:

To be eligible for this exam, one must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline or complete it by June 10, 2013.

Registration process:

One can register through online payment using credit card/debit card for an amount of Rs 950/- (Rs 650/- for SC/ST candidates). Then send the XAT confirmation page (that has to be downloaded after registering for XAT) to XAT Office.

Or

One can also register through cash payment. After successfully completing the registration, the candidate has to download the XAT pay-in-slip. A non-refundable amount of Rs 950/- (Rs 650/- for SC/ST candidates) is to be tendered to the nearest branch of IDBI Bank. The transaction number provided by the bank in the pay-in-slip has to be entered in the registration webpage. Then download the XAT confirmation page and send to XAT Office, along with the XLRI's copy of XAT pay-in-slip.

One can also register through demand draft (DD). A candidate has to first make a non-refundable DD for Rs 950/- (Rs 650/- for SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of "XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT" payable at Jamshedpur and then register for XAT. Then send the XAT confirmation page (that has to be downloaded after registering for XAT) along with the DD to XAT Office. Register here
