Check your JEE (Main) admit cards!
A large number of candidates looking to take the all new JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) exam on April 7, 2013 have received admission cards with wrong information! In fact, in some cases, students have received the admit cards with wrong photos posing an identity crisis of sorts standing in the way of taking the entrance exam. The errors showed up in the candidates' admit cards uploaded on the JEE website on March 6.
Out of approximately 12.8 lakh applicants for the exam to be conducted by CBSE, at least a lakh candidates could have been affected, as per news reports.
Though CBSE officials are assuring to fix the issue, such a blunder by the board just a few weeks before the exam could ruin the chances of various JEE aspirants looking to enter premier engineering colleges in the country.
The schools are also being named in the blame game, as the applications of students were printed out and processed together by their respective schools, which could have led to wrong photos getting pasted on some of them.
Hoping for some assistance from the CBSE officials, students are trying to call the helpline numbers given on the JEE website, but all in vain, as the line is mostly busy.
The Admit Cards can be downloaded from the JEE website www.jeemain.nic.in. Students can email the CBSE about any discrepancy on the Admit Card at jeemain@nic.in by 25 March, 2013.
The CBSE Helpline Number is 8506061071-78 (call between 10.00 am to 5.30 pm on working days).
