CMAT 2013 begins Sept 27!
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has released the dates for CMAT – the national MBA entrance exam for the year 2012-2014. This second chapter of CMAT will be conducted between September 27 and October 1, 2012.
The first CMAT was conducted in February this year and around 70,000 students from across the country had registered. (Read more)
Introduced to do away with multiple entrance tests, CMAT is the entry requirement for over 3,000 management institutes across the country.
Being conducted twice, for the first time this year, it gives students an alternative to choose the better score when applying to institutes. For this, students will also have to take the test twice in the same academic year. Nonetheless, it is not mandatory for students to appear for the test during both windows. Students can take the first test as a mock test. The better score out of the two will count. (Read more)
As far as the eligibility is concerned, graduates in any discipline or final year students of graduate courses can apply for CMAT online.
Pattern of the exam:
This computer-based test is of three hours and is spread over four sections:
- Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
- Language Comprehension
- General Awareness
The test will comprise a total of 100 questions with 25 questions in each section. Subsequently, the format of the test will remain unchanged. Students can choose the test in one of the two slots on any given day.

CMAT for the academic year 2013-14 will be conducted in 64 cities across India. These cities are:
