CMAT Scoring and Ranking Procedure
CMAT 2012 was a computer-based test. CMAT Results will be declared as CMAT scores for individuals, as well as in terms of All India merit list.
To calculate CMAT scores, four marks will be given to the candidate for each correct answer; no marks will be given for questions that have not been attempted; while one mark will be deducted from the total score for each incorrect answer.
Separate scores for each section will also be mentioned in CMAT result for an individual.
In the National Merit Ranking for CMAT , if more than one candidates score a tie in overall CMAT scores, they will be ranked on the basis of their sectional scores in the following order:
- Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
- Language Comprehension
- General Awareness
If they still have a tie, they will be assigned same rank, with their name displaying in the alphabetical order in the list.
The rank of the subsequent candidates will shift by the number of students having same rank. Hence, if two candidates are ranked at #10, the subsequent candidate will be ranked at 12, and not 11.
Since, CMAT was conducted for the first time, the actual scenario about CMAT cutoffs in different colleges is not clear. For this we need to wait and watch.
