Students preparing for JEE 2014 must note that the 20 percentile criteria continues for JEE 2014. And therefore, prepare accordingly and take the XII Board exams as seriously as the engineering entrance exam.
Following debates and controversies over the two-tier JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) pattern, and consequent meetings to review the pattern and assess the need for changes, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) has decided to continue with the pattern for next year. JAB is the body which monitors admissions for IITs.
The meeting was expected to finally decide whether the old IIT-JEE format will be back or will there be corrective measures taken in the new JEE format for the academic year 2014-15. JEE 2013 left a number of students confused and anguished due to the controversial “normalization of marks” and the “Top-20 percentile norm”. The confusion resulted in students missing seats in the premier IITs and NITs even after securing better marks in JEE and performing well in their 10+2 exams.
