The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has welcomed central Government's decision to conduct NEET PG exams on September 11.
On Tuesday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2021 will be conducted on September 11, 2021. The IMA has welcomed this decision and wished nearly 1.76 lakh students all the best for participating in the exam.
Earlier,
(NEET PG) 2021
was scheduled to be held on April 18, 2021. However, due to the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, the exams were postponed till further announcement.
Mandaviya tweeted: "We have decided to conduct #NEET Postgraduate exam on 11th September 2021. My best wishes to young medical aspirants."
NEET PG 2021 exams will be conducted in 260 cities and 800 test centres in India. The government is taking all necessary steps to conduct the exams with adequate Covid-19 protocols.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also announced that to ensure the pandemic induced social distancing norms are in place, the number of exam centres have been increased. Furthermore, the students will be provided with a face mask at every centre.
The IMA press release stated that it is important to scale up processes like result announcement, counselling and beginning of the course. IMA is hoping to welcome the new postgraduates by October end.
The National Board of Examination (NBE), which conducts the NEET exam, is expected to publish the revised notification soon at nbe.edu.in and natboard.edu.in. After clearing NEET PG, the students will be eligible for admission MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses.
