Eight scholarships worth Rs 3 lakh each for IELTS candidates from India
Awarded by the British Council, IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Scholarship Award is meant for undergraduate or postgraduate studies at a recognized academic institute in an English-speaking country. This scholarship was launched to support Indian students with aspirations to pursue their studies abroad.
As part of the scholarship, 8 IELTS candidates will be awarded INR 300,000 each towards the cost of tuition fees.
To be eligible for the IELTS Scholarship Award, aspirants need to comply with the following:
- Be a resident and citizen of India
- Must have taken the IELTS test with the British Council recently
- Should have a minimum overall IELTS band score of 6.0
- Should produce a valid letter of acceptance / offer letter from a recognised education institution that accepts IELTS as part of its admissions criteria
- Should have begun an under graduate or post graduate programme outside India in the 2013 academic year
The process of acceptance of applications will commence in January 2014. The complete details are yet to be released.
