Avoid pressure, revise previously learned concepts, refrain from learning new and additional ones, take time out for leisure and have a proper sleep pattern. Following these strategies in the last month of preparation will definitely help you optimize your performance in the exams.
The last month before any exam is very crucial. Time plays a very important role in deciding your success in any exam. First, the main thing that one should keep in his/her mind is that they should not go for new concepts. One should be focused on revising previous concepts. It is my personal experience that when I tried to go for new concepts, I actually was confused with the previous ones as well. Therefore, just make your previous concepts stronger.
Now I am going to share the main strategy. First, write your syllabus on a page, divide your whole syllabus into smaller parts and set your deadline to complete that portion. Be honest to yourself and complete your task within that period. Another important thing is that you can prepare your own quick revision notes, which have all the important formulas and concepts in brief. You can revise the concepts even a day before your exam with the help of your quick revision notes. Try to solve the previous year’s questions papers on your own, it will give you an idea about the questions that can be asked in the exam and will make you familiar with the exam pattern.
It is natural to feel the pressure of the upcoming exam especially when you have just one month left. It is very important to keep yourself motivated and not lose confidence. Never let the pressure of exam reign on your mind because it will affect your performance and you might end up with lower grades. Keep one thing in mind that it is you who is going to win in the exam, not the pressure. Also, keep one thing in mind that avoiding pressure literally does not mean that you do not pay any attention to your upcoming exam or forget about it. The pressure is important to keep ourselves on track but not so much that it will give us stress and tension. Thus, “PRESSURE IS NECESSARY EVIL”. Listen to music for 10-15 minutes, which will keep your mind fresh.
The thing, which is utmost important, is that we should have to take proper sleep even in the last month because you need a healthy body and brain to be able to win the upcoming battle. I would like to share my own experience, which will let you know the importance of proper sleep. I practised mathematics for the whole year, however, just made one mistake. A day before my exam of CBSE class 12, I spent the whole night learning. In the morning I was feeling tired. After seeing the question paper, I was feeling so happy however, it soon turned into sadness. It is because due to tiredness and pain in my hand, I left questions worth 12 marks. I lost marks because my mind was not working very well. Hence, proper sleep is very important or else, It has the potential to ruin your whole efforts. Therefore, please be cautious.
At last, I just want to say keep the faith in yourself, make plans and sincerely follow them
