Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be conducting Special Class Railway Apprentices (SCRA) Exam on January 12, 2014(tentative) in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board).
The last date to apply for the exam is November 4, 2013.
Eligibility:
- Aspirants should have qualified the first or second division, the Intermediate or an equivalent examination of a university or Board recognized by the Government of India with Mathematics and minimum one subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.
- Aspirants should be in the age group between 17 – 21 years as on January 1, 2014.
Application fee: Rs.100/- (SC/ ST/ PH / female aspirants are exempted from the fee)
Exam pattern:
The 120 minutes exam encompasses three major sections worth 600 marks.
- Section 1: General ability for 200 marks which includes G.K, English and Psychological questions.
- Section II: Physical Sciences for 200 marks which contain questions related to Chemistry & Physics.
- Section III: Mathematics for 200 marks which will be in English medium at the diplomacy of the Commission to attach the criteria of the sectional or total cutoffs marks for the subjects.
All the papers will have objective type questions and for every incorrect answer, marks will be deducted.
