Gujrat launches JEE, NEET question banks online
Recently joining the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admissions to engineering courses in colleges affiliated to GTU and deemed universities, the Gujarat government has also decided to give 40 per cent weightage to the All India JEE. Marks scored in science subjects in the HSC board examination will get 60 per cent weightage.
As per the guidelines of the Union ministry of education, it was preferable if the state gives 50 per cent weightage while making merit list to JEE. But it had stated that the weightage to JEE should not be less than 40 per cent.
The JEE Main written examination is scheduled to be conducted on April 7 while the online examination will be held between April 8 and 25.
Subsequently, with an aim to help the HSC students, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) recently uploaded question banks for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) entrance exams on its official website. Students can download the material for free and use it to prepare for the entrance exams.
The question bank consists of 3,015 questions in Physics, 3,488 in Chemistry, 4,789 in Biology and 1,980 questions in Maths.
Besides this, the Board officials also informed that a helpline for SSC and HSC board students and their parents, will be launched shortly. The toll-free helpline number 1800 233 5500 will be active from February 15 to March 25. Students can call at any time from 8 am to 8 pm.
