JEE registrations begin Nov 8
Students waiting to appear for the new JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) can get themselves enrolled from November 8 to December 15, 2012. The registration process will be conducted online and the forms will be available on the official JEE website till December 15.
Conducted by JEE Apex Board, the exam will be taken by aspirants seeking admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in NITs, IIITs and other centrally-funded technical institutions. Admissions to these will be done on the basis of a merit list based on 40% weightage to Std XII board marks and 60% weightage to JEE (main). The state governments can take a call on the weightage ratio for admission to their respective unaided engineering colleges.
The JEE will be divided into two parts - JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced). The JEE (main) will serve as a screening test to select the top 1,50,000 candidates to appear for the JEE (Advanced), for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.
JEE (main) consists of paper-I( for engineering entrance) and paper-II(for architecture entrance in non-IITs). Paper-I (offline) and paper-II (to be conducted in offline format only) will be held on April 7, 2013. The online exam for paper-I will be held from April 8-25 and candidates will be required to make their slot/date selection through online mode between February 1-15. If an online test candidate does not make this selection then a randomly selected slot will be assigned, based on the availability.
JEE Advanced which will be the final step for admission to IITs, IT-BHU, and ISM Dhanbad is scheduled to be conducted on June 2, 2013.
