KBAT Entrance Exam
Karnataka Biotechnology Aptitude Test (KBAT) is conducted by Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology Services (KBITS) for admission to Biotechnology Finishing Schools (BTFS) program offered at the institute. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on Friday, July 19, 2013 and Saturday, July 20, 2013.
Eligibility:
- Candidates must have a minimum of 50% in Masters degree from Universities of the state or any other university recognized as equivalent in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics or any other life science related courses; B.E./B.Tech. - Biotechnology, Bioinformatics; Bachelor of Pharmacy, Agriculture, Veterinary, MBBS and BDS are also eligible to apply
- Candidates who have appeared for the M.Sc/B.E. final exams can also apply. Upon selection, a provisional degree Certificate should be submitted to the respective colleges within two weeks of course commencement.
Exam pattern:
An online exam, KBAT consists of 100 multiple choice questions which need to be answered in 100 minutes. The exam mainly tests the fundamental concepts in Biology (particularly general and cell & molecular biology) along with a student's aptitude and English skills.
Application process:
- Aspirants are required to register online.

Selection process: Aspirants will be selected on the basis of the online entrance test which will be followed by interview.
