Following glitches in the diploma common entrance test (DCET) held on June 15, 2013, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will be re-conducting the exam on June 30. Students taking the exam on June 15 complained that the questions in the exam were repeats of previous question papers and that at least 60-70 per cent questions were exactly similar to last year’s question paper.
The re-examination was demanded by the Technical Students’ Federation.
Important points:
- DCET is conducted for diploma students for lateral entry into second year (3rd semester) engineering courses.
- The exam to be conducted on June 30 will include all the 14 technical subjects, including science and mathematics (common for all branches)
- Aspirants can visit KEA website www.kea.kar.nic.in to download their admission tickets from 6 pm onwards on Tuesday, June 18, 2013
- Students will not have to pay any additional fees for the exam scheduled to be conducted on June 30.
However, the re-exam will not affect undergraduate technical admissions and will be concluded before July 30.
