KIITEE is an entrance exam conducted by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology. It is a good option for many engineering, medical and management aspirants.

An acronym for Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Exam, KIITEE is an entrance exam conducted by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology. Various engineering, medical and management aspirants apply and appear for this exam every year.

KIIT is one of India's leading technical institutes that offer innumerable courses for professional applicants. It is the institute's very brand value and the quality of its academics that attract a large number of students towards this institute, thus, making this exam highly competitive in nature.

Conducted as a common entrance exam, the most striking feature of KIITEE is that there is no application or examination fee charged.

KIITEE, 2012 is scheduled for the 22nd and 23rd of April this year and will be conducted in 57 cities all across India.

Eligibility:

  • Undergraduate courses:

B.Tech. (4 years)/B.Tech & M.Tech-Dual Degree (5 years)/B.Tech & MBA-Dual Degree (5 years):

  • Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination in 2010, 2011 or appearing in 10+2 examination in 2012 are only eligible to apply for B.Tech (4 years), B.Tech & M.Tech- Dual Degree (5 years), B.Tech and MBA- Dual Degree (5years) course of the University.
  • Applicants must have studied in regular full time formal education in their schooling / college.
  • Should have passed in 10 +2 or its equivalent with at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together.
  • B.Tech & M.Tech. (Dual Degree) Biotechnology - Pass in 10+2 or equivalent with at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology taken together.
  • Should have been born on or after 01.07.1991.

For MBBS/BDS:

  • 10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together for general category candidates and 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together for SC/ST Candidates.
  • Age: Lower age should be 17 years as on 31.12.12 & upper age limit should be maximum 25 years as on 31.12.12. The upper age limit may be relaxed by five year for SC/ST candidates.

For B.Sc. Nursing (4 years):

  • Pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry & Biology and English.(PCBE) with at least 45% marks in aggregate
  • Age: Lower age should be 17 years as on 31.12.12 & upper age limit should be maximum 35 years as on 31.12.12

B.A.LL.B/BBA LL.B/B.Sc LL.B (5 years):

  • 10+2 pass or equivalent in any stream with at least 50% marks.
  • For B.Sc. LL.B candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent in the science stream with at least 50% marks
  • Age: Not completed 21 years of age as on 01.07.12

For BBA / BCA (3 years):

  • Pass in 10+2 in any stream with at least 50% marks and having Mathematics / Business Mathematics / Economics / Statistics as one of the subjects in 10+2 level.
  • Should have been born on or after 01.07.1991.

  • Postgraduate courses:

For MCA (3 years):

  • Graduate with minimum 50% marks in graduation or equivalent having mathematics either in 10+2 or graduation level-as one of the subjects can apply.
  • Candidate should have been born on or after 01.07.1988.

For M.Tech. (2 years):

  • B.E. or B.Tech. or equivalent Degree (e.g. AMIE, GRADE-IETE etc) in respective branches of Engineering and Technology with a First Class or equivalent CGPA or First Class MCA / First Class M.Sc. in (Comp/IT/ETC).
  • GATE qualified candidates shall be accorded preference in the process of selection. GATE qualified candidates having Score 400 or above need not sit in the entrance Examination. Course wise eligibility criteria for M.Tech.

M.Sc. (Biotechnology/Applied Microbiology) (2 years):

  • Bachelor's degree in any branch of Science/ Agriculture/ Pharmacy/ Veterinary / Engineering / Technology / Medicine (MBBS/BDS) with at least 55% marks.
  • Candidate should have been born on or after 01.07.1988.

LL.M:

  • Candidate should have passed B.A.LLB/BBA LLB/B.Sc.LLB/B.L, degree or an equivalent degree from recognized university and must have secured at least 55% of marks in aggregate

M.Sc nursing (2 years):

  • The Candidate should be a Registered Nurse or Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
  • The minimum education requirements shall be passing of B.Sc Nursing/B.Sc Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.(5% relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates)
  • The Candidate should have undergone in B.Sc Nursing/B.Sc.Hons.Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing council.
  • Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc Nursing.
  • Candidate should be medically fit.

Exam Pattern:

  • Engineering:

The exam is conducted in two parts:

Part 1: Physics and Chemistry (Two hours - 10:00 am to 12 noon)
Part 2: Mathematics (Two hours - 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm)

A total of 150 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) are to be answered from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Students are allotted 3 marks for every correct answer and for every incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted. However in any case, if the applicant leaves any question unanswered, there will be no negative marking.

  • Management:

Comprising 150 objective questions, this exam analyses the students in the following segments:

  • Quantitative Ability(40 questions)
  • Analytical Reasoning(40 questions)
  • English(30 questions)
  • General Knowledge(20 questions)
  • Issues of Social Concern(20 questions)
     

All the questions are supposed to be answered within a time limit of two and a half hours. The marking scheme is the same as engineering entrance exam. Know more.
