KMAT entrance on July 21
Candidates seeking admission to MBA and MCA courses in 169 Karnataka colleges can now appear for Karnataka Management Admissions Test (KMAT) on Sunday, July 21, 2013.
With the Supreme Court declaring the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) an ‘advisory and recommendatory body’, admissions to all colleges under Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges' Association (KPPGCA) will be based on KMAT.
Earlier this year, the AICTE had ordered to conduct admissions on the basis of Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) scores. Currently, about 169 institutions are affiliated to various universities in Karnataka that are a part of the KPPGCA and nearly 12,000 students have been taking the KMAT for the past eight years.
Eligibility criteria:
To be eligible for this exam, one must have any bachelor’s degree from any discipline i.e. science, humanities, commerce, computers from any recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all subjects.

Paper pattern of KMAT 2013:
KMAT is an objective type exam of three hour duration. The exam can be taken for – MBA paper or MBA & MCA combined paper. The paper patterns will differ as given below:
Paper pattern of MBA:
There will be 3 sections in the MBA paper which contains 120 questions.
