MCI to conduct NEET in 2013

The final verdict for NEET has come and the Medical Council of India (MCI) has decided to conduct the first-ever National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in 2013. Through this exam, one could get admission to all the MBBS courses across the country. The Board of Governors of the MCI has cleared the clouds on the decision for postponement of NEET by one more year in view of recommendations received to this effect from the Union Health Ministry recently.

The MCI has also passed the amendments to the notification for holding the NEET and forwarded it to Union Health Ministry for the approval. Earlier, NEET was scheduled for May 2012 but then the amendments to the notification were sought by the MCI for changing the marking system for the exam. (Read full report here)

Syllabus for NEET-UG has been already finalized by MCI and it was scheduled to be held on 13th May, 2012. The CBSE is the conducting body of the exam on the behalf of MCI.
