A revised evaluation module is also designed by the Panjab University in order to release the results of the undergraduate and postgraduate classes.

Panjab University decided not to conduct the intermediate semester examinations for its affiliated colleges. The University will be promoting the students to the next academic year for which a module is also prepared. According to the new module, 50 percent marks from internal assessment, and 50 percent marks will be taken from the previous semester to prepare the results of the undergraduate and postgraduate classes. The module will also be applied for pre-PhD. Panjab University also formed a committee that asked the University School of Open Learning chairperson to send a proposal with regard to the methods to prompt the students. With regard to conducting the exams in the physical form for the UG and PG Programmes declaration of the first and second-semester results for those who have failed, a meeting will be conducted by the committee set up by the university.

Earlier, the Punjab government also wrote a letter to the Human and Resource Development Ministry stating that conducting the examinations for the final year students will not be possible given the rising cases of COVID-19 in the state. The government also mentioned that conducting the exams will put the health and safety of the students at risk given the current climate. Later, the University Grant Commission (UGC) released guidelines for universities across the country to conduct the final semester examinations by September 2020.

Meanwhile, the Panjab state government also decided to provide smartphones to the girl students from class 9 to 12 in the government schools of the state to promote online education. In order to curb the loss of studies during the lockdown, schools are utilizing different modes of teaching and learning. According to the reports, the state Chief Minister Amarinder Singh will distribute the smartphones.
