Odisha adopts AIPMT for MBBS/BDS admissions
Odisha will now stick to All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test (AIPMT) for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses offered by institutes in the state, from the year 2014. The state-level entrance test OJEE for admissions to undergraduate medical and dental courses is scrapped.
The state will admit students, for the 85% seats under the state quota, on the basis of AIPMT's state merit list, thus, following the state reservation norms. For the remaining 15% seats, the admissions will be based on AIPMT national merit list and counseling would be via OJEE (Odisha Joint Entrance Exam).
AIPMT 2014 is scheduled to be conducted on May 4, 2014. The online registration will commence from December 26, 2013 and will continue till January 25, 2014. For more information on AIPMT 2014, click here!
For the year 2013, the state followed National Entrance-cum-Eligibility Test (NEET UG) for admissions to UG medical and dental courses. However, on July 18, the Supreme Court scrapped NEET after much chaos.
