Students’ Speak: Plan, Follow and Motivate
By: Abhinaba Parui
There may be few reasons due to which exams may not go well. The reasons may be poor preparations, lack of time to be well prepared, getting improper guidance, and being too reluctant, etc. So, first and foremost, what a student should do is to find out the exact reason for it.
Find out the reasons why your exam didn’t go well. If you think that it happened just because of poor preparations then start doing preparation in a smart way. There are many coaching centres for MBA entrance exams which can guide you or you can do it by yourself in your home.
But first, think about which one is going to be the right fit for you and then decide. If you find that the time which you have spent on your preparation was not sufficient, then you can again start doing preparation with full stamina and dedication. So, it will give you an extra advantage and you will get more time to cover new chapters and to brush up the chapters which you had already covered. If you think that you need proper guidance then you may join any well-known coaching centre.
There are a lot of alternatives which you can follow. So, you can drop the year and can start taking preparation by yourself if your exam doesn’t go well. In this case, you will get an opportunity again. But if it is not possible to attend the competitive exams again, then try to find out the colleges which seem to be better for you according to the score that you have got in your exam. To find out the colleges according to your score, you can get the best guidance from Shiksha.com.
Once you check the website, you will get a clear idea about the colleges which are going to fit you. There you can check the reviews of the students from their respective colleges. It will help you get a clear picture of the college, its infrastructure, placements, library, and faculties, etc. Apart from this, you can look for the management quota in the college where you want to take admission. Generally, there are very few seats available in management quota, so getting a chance through management quota is less. But you can look for it and if there is any availability, you can simply go for it.
When I did not get the college where I wanted to go, because of the poor score, I felt bad at that time. But I planned and asked myself what was going to be next. And my plan was to graduate first and to pursue the post-graduation degree later on. So, I assured myself that I would rectify my mistakes, would not make the same mistakes and would be preparing myself so that I can get the best university for pursuing the postgraduate degree.
So, my aim and plan were pretty much clear to me. And hopefully, that is why I did not get any stress. I am currently pursuing PGDM from FOSTIIMA Business School. But sometimes I felt depressed. So, to release it, I used to go for morning walks, used to meditate or watch comedy reality shows. If you feel something negative, try to simply divert your mind or try to make yourself engaged in any productive work.
Never be depressed. It is your life, so learn to make the decisions. Plan yourself, follow it and try to motivate yourself. I used to motivate myself by watching the biography of successful people. So you can do it because it will help you learn how to overcome failure and which things are essential. Keep motivating yourself and do the smart work. No one can stop you from attaining success.
