By: Kandarp Patel
To achieve something, one should not be afraid of failure, but giving up is the ultimate failure.
Everybody has a different definition of failure and people fear failure. In this article, we will discuss how to overcome the fear of failure. Just understand clearly that to achieve something, one should not be afraid of failure, but giving up is the ultimate failure. One should be fearless in order to achieve something great.
Many students appearing for various entrance exams like JEE or CAT or MAT stop trying or give up easily fearing failure which is completely wrong.
The ultimate reason why everyone is scared of the failure is their high expectations and the mindset that what people will think of them. Seriously one keeps so many expectations from oneself that if in case one is not able to fulfil their expectations, he or she goes into depression. So now onwards try to focus less on your expectations and instead of it work more to achieve success.
Just stay positive and motivated
Why the fear of failure comes? The most common reason for this is that everyone starts thinking about what will really happen if they fail? And after this question, the whole mind is surrounded by various answers that so and so will happen if I fail, I will not get this, what my family, friends and people will think? So, in reality, you have not failed, but your mind takes you to the journey of failure. This damages a lot, it affects much and disturbs your process and work to achieve success. So keep one thing very tight in your mind, don’t think negative or be negative. Just stay positive and motivated enough.
The harder you work the more confident you will become
Instead of thinking about what will really happen if you fail, start thinking about what will really happen if you achieve success or something great and what should you do to achieve it? This will create a very positive effect on your mind and after thinking this, you will definitely focus well and work hard.
And understand one thing also that there is no substitute for hard work. The harder you work the more confident you will be and you will be least bothered about failure. But the less you work the less confident you will be and you will surely have a fear of failure. So, apart from a strong and positive mindset, hard work is also very important to overcome the fear of failure.
Some important tips to avoid the fear of failure:
- Watch motivational videos and success stories of JEE/CAT aspirants instead of playing games or surfing social media.
- Meditate every morning which has many benefits.
- Try to play outdoor or indoor sports which really help you to stay fresh and calm.
- Study daily and on a regular basis and try to revise all the things that you learned in your class or coaching in 1-2 days or as early as possible.
- Trust in God, God will always help you.
