A day before the last day of CMAT, maximum number of students chose to appear for the new management entrance exam on Sunday.

The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2012 is the first edition of the new national-level management entrance exam being conducted by the AICTE. The exam was to be conducted over a 5-day window period of September 27 to October 1. Sunday seemed to be the chosen day for CMAT takers as maximum number of students took the test on that day.

Out of 60,000 students who had registered for the test, about 26% took CMAT on Sunday. The exam has been conducted smoothly and without any major glitches till now.

The general consensus amongst the students was that the paper is easy this year.

Most CMAT takers are from Mumbai. Pune and Ahmedabad also saw high number of students taking the exam.

CMAT 2012 will be conducted twice a year. Another edition of the exam will be conducted soon. Students have an option of appearing in the exam once or twice as their best scores will be used for admission to management colleges in 2013-14.
