Telangana Schools are all set to begin online classes from September 1.  According to the latest update, the Telangana Government is mulling to start online classes at the school level from September 1, 2020, onwards. In addition to this, the teachers are also asked to report to schools for regular duty from August 27,  2020. According to the media reports, the School Education Department, Telangana informed that the decision about the commencement of online classes for school students was taken after receiving approval from the Council of Ministers. However, online classes for Telangana Intermediate Students have already started from August 17,  2020, onwards. The department also informed that the online classes will be broadcasted through digital and television platforms. The order released by the state education department reads, “Government, after careful examination, hereby permit as part of e-learning and distance education, online classes on various digital, TV, T-SAT platforms from September 1, 2020, in all schools."

Apart from the release of official statements released regarding the online classes for students, the notification also states that school teachers from across the state will be required to attend schools regularly from August 27, 2020. The government further added, “All teachers shall attend schools regularly from August 27 onwards and shall prepare e-content, lesson plans, etc."

In order to facilitate learning for students, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) also developed an alternative academic calendar for online classes that the schools will follow while imparting education. Operational guidelines, SOPs and protocols will also be issued by Telangana, the Director of School Education. Separate instructions for regular classes will be issued as per the Government of India guidelines as and when reopening of schools is feasible, the government said.
