Three attempts to qualify JEE (Main)
Aspirants can now take three attempts to qualify the new Joint Entrance Exam (Main) which will be conducted in the year 2013. Not only the first stage exam for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), but JEE (Main) is also the gateway for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and centrally-funded engineering colleges.
A new document released said “The number of attempts which a candidate can avail JEE (Main) shall be limited to three for all the candidates in consecutive years”.
The document also revealed that the three-hour exam will have objective type questions and multiple-choice questions. However, for every wrong answer one-fourth of a mark will be cut, but there will be no negative marking for not attempting.
The document also elucidated that students will be able to improve their Class XII board exam performance, as these marks will also carry weightage from next year.
As per Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) official announcement the Offline JEE Main 2013 will be conducted on April 7, 2013 while the online test will be conducted later that month.
