Time Management for GATE 2014
The famous saying “The key is in not spending time, but in investing it”, holds quite true when preparing for GATE. Time management is a major stumbling block for most of the students in this exam. Being consistent while preparing for your exams is one of the most important things you should do. It’s not a one day job but a consistent effort that will help you climb the ladder of success in GATE 2014, which is scheduled to be conducted between February 1 and March 2, 2014.
But, how are you managing your time while preparing for this exam? To help tackle this problem wisely, here are some expert tips you should adhere to while preparing for GATE 2014:
- Fix your daily routine and write down these activities on a paper with the time (in hours) you want to allot to each topic. However, keep a grace period of half an hour to finish each topic.
- Once you have a list of activities you have to do in a day, you will have a clear idea of the action plan for a day.
- Figure out activities you can do to relax and allot some time for fun activities too.
- Take out sufficient time in your daily schedule for GATE preparations.
A lot of time is spent in travelling and with friends that leads to no productivity and more distractions. Some of the common distractions that a student faces are:
- Travel long distance, driving your own vehicles on regular basis.
- Following TV serials
- Too much unproductive time spent with friends
- Sleeping for long hours
- Spending too much time in markets
- Watching movies almost every weekend, watching movies every night before sleeping
These are the few common areas where we while away our time. If we manage them properly we will be able to do many things miraculously on time.
