Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2025 (TNEA 2025) is the process of seat allocation to the students who have applied for admission to various colleges in Tamil Nadu through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions process. TNEA 2025 includes Registration, Payments, Choice Filling, Allotment and Confirmation. The process is completely online. The process is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu. The process is relevant for admission to BE/BTech and some integrated courses in government, government-aided, and self-financing engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. TNEA Registration 2025

Candidates who have passed or appeared can apply for TNEA Counselling. To apply, the first step is to visit the TNEA website and register by providing basic details like name, email and mobile number. A unique User ID and password will be generated thereafter. After the application form is filled out, candidates are required to provide the necessary details, such as personal, academic, and special reservation details (if applicable), and upload the required documents. 

Q:   What is Random Number Allotment in TNEA?
A:

A random number will be assigned to all the applicants for the breaker. In case all other tie-breaking criteria for determining rank in the TNEA merit list are unsuccessful, a 10-digit random number will be assigned to each applicant to break the ties. The higher the value of the random number, the higher the preference will be in the merit list. To access the TNEA random number, candidates must log in using their registration number and date of birth.

Q:   What is TNEA counselling?
A:

TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) counselling is a centralized online process used for allotment to students seeking admission to BE/BTech and othe related courses in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is the way by which students get admitted to government, government-aided, and some self-financing engineering colleges in the state. 

TNEA Seat Allotment 

Based on merit and availability, a seat will be allotted to the candidate in the college in the desired branch. After confirmation, final seats are made, and candidates can view their results on the website. 

TNEA Random Number Allotment 

A random number will be assigned to all the applicants for the breaker. In case all other tie-breaking criteria for determining rank in the TNEA merit list are unsuccessful, a 10-digit random number will be assigned to each applicant to break the ties. The higher the value of the random number, the higher the preference will be in the merit list. TNEA Registration Payment

After filling in all the necessary details, candidates are required to pay the application fee. The application fee depends on the category to which the student belongs. The fees are paid at the time of the online application process, but before certificate verification. Check out the TNEA registration in the table below:

TNEA Choice Filling 2025

Candidates are required to fill in their preferred colleges and branches in order of preference on the online portal. The TNEA authority will release the list of these colleges and branches. This list of preferences is then used by the counselling authorities to allocate seats based on merit and availability.

Documents Required for TNEA Seat Allotment 

Candidates must upload a copy of the following original certificates. The uploaded certificates will be verified at the TFCs. The candidate can give their preference of TFC for online Certificate Verification. The instruction for uploading the certificates is given later after the registration process is completed.

  • 10th Mark Sheet
  • HSC First year (+1) Marksheet
  • HSC Second year (+2) / Equivalent Mark sheet
  • Transfer certificate
  • Registration Fee Details
  • Details of Government school studied from the Sixth to the Twelfth standard for 7.5% of Government School Students Reservation
  • Permanent Community Certificate for ST, SC, SCA, MBC & DNC, BC and BCM (either Permanent card or electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate)
  • Nativity Certificate (only in electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate) (if applicable)
  • Income certificate (if applicable)
  • First Graduate Certificate (only in electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate) and First Graduate Joint Declaration (if applicable)
  • Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee Certificate (if applicable)
  • Candidates who have applied for special reservation
    • Relevant certificates for the Son / Daughter of Ex-servicemen with the Parent’s discharge certificate and ID card
    • Differently abled persons should bring a Medical Certificate obtained from the Medical Board (Consisting of 3 Doctors)
    • Eminent sports persons should submit all sports achievement certificates with the necessary forms.

TNEA Seat Allotment Confirmation

Candidates must confirm the allotted seat within the specified timeframe. This process involves logging into the TNEA portal, viewing their seat allotment, and confirming their decision to accept the seat.
