TOEFL a hit with Indian aspirants
Aspiring to study abroad, then TOEFL is the way to go. At least that is what the data released by Educational Testing Service suggests, with the volume of TOEFL exam takers in India going up by 7 per cent in 2012 compared to 2011.
TOEFL is a popular English proficiency test in India, fulfilling the dreams of numerous Indians of making to foreign universities for more than 45 years. In 2012, 67 per cent of test takers in India were males and 33 per cent were females.
TOEFL tops the list of students, when it comes to going for English Proficiency tests, as it is one of the least expensive exams and also can be completed merely in half a day.
TOEFL acceptance in almost 8,500 institutions across 130 countries is a proof of its growing popularity. Moreover in 2011, Australia's Department of Immigration and Citizenship approved the TOEFL test for use for student visas in Australia.
TOEFL’s popularity is not just confined to India, as the trend is similar across the globe.
