Soon, a retail sector focused business school will be launched in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad to have first-ever retail B-schoolBoth in terms of growth and career opportunities, Retail is the sector to watch out for. More and more skilled professionals will be required to meet the growing needs of the company.

India requires additional 17 million retail staff by 2022. The job profiles are pretty taxing and hiring and retaining talent has been a constant challenge. To meet the growing needs of the retail sector, and to enhance the capability and skills of the aspirants in the retail sector, Hyderabad will soon have a retail-focused business school.

Global Retail Education and Training (GREAT) India will be launched in Hyderabad in partnership with the Australian Retail College (ARC).

ARC will help GREAT India in many domains like technical expertise, assistance in course pedagogy, facilitating visiting faculty and moreover it will also expand the galore of opportunities for graduates with the Australian retail employers.

The B-school has its campus at Gundlapochampalli in the outskirts of Hyderabad. GREAT India offers intensive one year full time post graduation programs in retail management and retail entrepreneurship. The course will begin from the month of September and the intake will be 30 students for each of the programme. The fee is pegged around Rs 2.75 lakh.

Recently, Future Innoversity has collaborated with Retailers Association of India (RAI) to launch an 11-month industry-endorsed Post Graduate Programme in Retail Management (PGPRM) to meet the needs of the industry. (Read full story)
