The University of Southern California is all set to launch a Master of Science degree programme in global supply chain management through the SP Jain Institute, Mumbai.

The University of Southern California (USC) now gives you an opportunity to pursue a US degree right here in India. The University is all set to launch a Master of Science degree programme in global supply chain management through the SP Jain Institute, Mumbai.

Awarded by the Marshal School of Business, aspirants of the course will have the option of on-campus learning experience at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, as also online programme option. Here are the course details:

About the course:

This Master of Science in Global Supply Chain Management program is designed to facilitate the needs of working professionals who live and work in the Asia-Pacific region (specifically India, Greater China, South Korea and the United States). With an aim to expand the participants’ knowledge of the rapidly-changing world of global supply chain management, the program is comprehensive in both academics and practical applications.

Students can pursue the program both on the USC campus (in-person) and via the internet. Students can choose face-to-face, synchronous or asynchronous modes to attend classes. Two international travel experiences to global distribution hubs are included in the program. Participation in both trips is required for graduation.

Admission requirements:

  • Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a 4-year U.S. bachelor’s degree with a good GPA.
  • Applicants are preferred to have at least 3-5 years of full-time work experience.
  • Applicants must be able to participate dynamically in a 100% English language learning environment
  • GMAT or GRE scores are not required, but are recommended.
  • For international students who did not complete a 4-year bachelor's degree at an American, British, Canadian or Australian college or university, proof of proficiency in English is required for admission. TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE scores are recommended, but not required. For those who choose to not provide test scores, English language competency will be determined by the program staff during the admissions interview.

Program structure:

  • The program requires 24 units completed within 16 months
  • Mode: Part-time

Because the program is considered part-time, international students may complete the program online only, unless they are already in the US, on a valid non-student US visa. The program also includes two 1.5-unit experiential learning trips:

  • Singapore (world-class logistics facilities)
  • Los Angeles (world-class customers and their requirements)

Cost: The total cost of tuition and fees for the program is estimated to be @ $39,500. This includes the cost of travel and accommodations for the international travel class modules but does not include books. Students who complete the program on campus should expect to pay additional fees for on-campus services including student programming, Student Health Center, health insurance.

Admission deadline (for 2013):

Early acceptance deadline: April 1, 2013;  Regular deadline: May 31, 2013.
