Retail Sector Provided 40% Employment to Young Graduates in UK
British Retail Consortium (BRC) has revealed the fact that, over the last 12 months, retailers has provided 40% jobs to young graduates in the age group of 16-12 years old. Retailers have created more than 13,500 jobs for beginners under the age of 21. Now retail sector accounts for 42% of all jobs taken by 16 to 17 year-olds.
It helps young graduates at a time when they struggle to enter the job market. BRC director-general Stephen Robertson said that, it has been made clear that retail is one of the sector which will provide young people with the job breaks they need.
At the time of August riots, young generation was frustrated as many of the school and college leavers had a tough time in finding good jobs. Retail has found itself in the frontline of the attacks, ironic when it's actually in the frontline of the solution.
The retail body has released the figures and it will be hosted at the Liberal Democrat conference at the ICC in Birmingham. The conference is entitled as highlighting the role of the retail industry in the wider economy.
