• Fresh applications for college students opened on August 1.

• One Time Registration (OTR) on the National Scholarship Portal is compulsory for all college applicants.

What is CG Post Matric Scholarship

The CG Post Matric Scholarship is a state-run support scheme for students who study after Class 10th. At the college level, the ST, SC, OBC and Minority Development Department of Chhattisgarh runs it. Everything happens on the e-Medha portal, from the form to the payment. More than 1,400 institutions are registered on this portal. These include big universities like Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya and Hemchand Yadav Vishwavidyalaya. Students who study outside Chhattisgarh can also apply. For Class 11th and 12th, the School Education Department runs the scheme on its own portal.

The amount is not the same for every student. It has two parts at the college level.

Maintenance Allowance for College Students

This part helps you with your daily study and living costs. It changes with the course you study. It also depends on whether you live in a hostel or at home. So a hosteller and a day scholar in the same course may not get the same amount. You can see the rate for your course after you log in on the e-Medha portal.

Tuition Fee Support Under CG Post Matric Scholarship

The second part covers the tuition fee of your course. Fees differ from course to course. So a nursing student and an engineering student will not get the same total amount. Students at AIIMS Raipur or Pt. JNM Medical College can ask their college scholarship in-charge for the exact figure.

CG Post Matric Scholarship for Class 11th and 12th Students

Class 11th and 12th students also get post matric support, but they apply on a different portal.

This is for students who have passed CGBSE 10th and moved to Class 11th. The School Education Department runs it on schoolscholarship.cg.nic.in. SC and ST students get a scholarship funded by the Centre. OBC students get a scholarship funded by the state. The e-Medha portal is only for students who study after Class 12th.

2. Register with your details on the login page.

3. Fill in your personal and school information.

4. Your school checks the form and sends it to the next level.

5. Track your form through your school scholarship in-charge.

NSP OTR Registration for CG Post Matric Scholarship

OTR means One Time Registration, and every college applicant needs it before applying.

1. Open the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in.

2. Go to the OTR section and start the registration.

3. Enter your Aadhaar details and finish the Aadhaar check.

4. Note down the OTR number you get.

5. Keep this number safe for the rest of your studies.

You make the OTR only once, using your Aadhaar. You then use the same number every year. Without it, you cannot verify and lock your form on the e-Medha portal.

How to Apply Online for CG Post Matric Scholarship

Follow these steps on the e-Medha portal once your OTR is ready.

1. Open postmatric-scholarship.cg.nic.in.

2. Click on registration if you are a new user. Old users can log in directly.

3. Fill in your course, college and eligibility details.

4. Upload your documents within the given size limits.

5. Verify the form with your NSP OTR number.

6. Submit the form.

After you submit, the form goes to your institute for checking. This is the same for students at big universities like Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya and Bastar Vishwavidyalaya. New institutes must also finish one step of their own. Their head and scholarship officer must complete a biometric check on the portal.

CG Post Matric Scholarship Payment Status and DBT

The money comes to you through DBT, which means Direct Benefit Transfer. The department sends it through PFMS, the government's online payment system, to your Aadhaar-linked bank account. After release, it usually reaches you within 7 working days. Payment goes out in phases, as shown in the Important Dates table. If the money does not come, first check if your bank account is linked with Aadhaar. An account that is closed or not linked with Aadhaar is the most common reason for a failed transfer. You can fix this at your bank branch.

Renewal is for students who got the scholarship last year. They must now be in the next year of the same course.

• Log in with your old user ID and password.

• Choose the renewal option, not the fresh application.

• Update your class or year of study.

• Upload your latest passed marksheet.

• Submit the form within the renewal phase.

Renew your form every year of the course so that your payment does not stop. The rule is the same for a student at IIM Raipur, O.P. Jindal University or any other registered institute.
