MahaDBT Scholarship Eligibility

The portal has a Find Eligible Schemes tool. It checks a student's income, category, course and department, then shows matching schemes.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   How much money does MahaDBT give?
A:

There is no fixed amount. It depends on the scheme and can include tuition fee reimbursement, exam fee reimbursement, maintenance allowance or hostel allowance.

Q:   How do I check my MahaDBT application status?

MahaDBT Scholarship Documents Required

The document list changes by scheme. But these documents are usually needed across most MahaDBT schemes.

  • Aadhaar card

  • Aadhaar-linked bank account details

  • Maharashtra domicile certificate

  • Caste certificate and caste validity certificate, where needed

  • Income certificate

  • Previous year's marksheet

  • Current admission proof

  • Bonafide certificate

  • Hostel certificate, where needed

  • Disability certificate, where needed

An Aadhaar-linked bank account matters a lot here. DBT payments go straight into the account linked to the student's Aadhaar. Check that this link is active before applying, so the payment does not get stuck later.

MahaDBT Scholarship Registration Process

Before applying to any scheme, students must first register and set up their profile on MahaDBT 2.0.

  • Visit the MahaDBT 2.0 portal and choose new applicant registration.

  • Complete Aadhaar-based verification, either by OTP or biometric.

  • Fill in personal details like name, date of birth, gender and contact number.

  • Add domicile details and upload the domicile certificate.

  • Enter family income and upload the income certificate.

  • Add caste and category details, where needed, with the certificate.

  • Enter bank details and confirm Aadhaar seeding.

  • Save the profile before moving to scheme selection.

This registration step stays the same for students from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences or any other recognised Maharashtra college.

How to Check MahaDBT Scholarship Application Status

Application status is checked through Application Tracking on MahaDBT 2.0, using the Application ID.

  • Log in to the MahaDBT 2.0 portal.

  • Go to Application Tracking.

  • Enter the Application ID from the time of submission.

  • Check the current stage, such as institute verification, department scrutiny or approval.

MahaDBT also has a Citizen Charter. It shows the expected time for each stage, so students know what to expect.

Common MahaDBT Scholarship Problems

Some problems come up often during application and verification. Students from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University also face issues like this. Since most problems are about the portal or documents, not the college.

  • If the application is pending, verification is still going on. Check the stage in Application Tracking.

  • If Aadhaar is not linked to the bank account, payment fails. Visit the bank branch to confirm.

  • MahaDBT has many schemes, so students often pick the wrong one. Use the Find Eligible Schemes tool.

  • Each scheme asks for different documents. Check the document list again before submitting.

  • The application can get rejected if the profile is incomplete or certificates do not match. Check the rejection note and reapply if the window is open
