Odisha State Scholarship is the official platform for state scholarships in Odisha. The Government of Odisha runs it at scholarship.odisha.gov.in. Earlier each department used to have their own website. But now all schemes are on one portal. There are 18 schemes from 7 departments. These schemes cover students from Class 1 to PhD. School students can apply for Pre Matric and Junior Merit. College students at Utkal University, Ravenshaw University and Sambalpur University can apply for e-Medhabruti scholarship Odisha. Odisha State Scholarship Portal: Overview

Here are the main details of the portal:

Seven departments run these schemes. These are SSEPD, Labour and ESI, and School and Mass Education. Also included are ST and SC and MBC Welfare, Higher Education and Agriculture and FE. The last one is Skill Development and Technical Education. 

Odisha Scholarship Portal Eligibility Criteria

There is no single rule for all 18 schemes. Every scheme has its own rules. The portal has a Check Eligibility page. Fill your details there. It will show the schemes you can apply for.

Most schemes check these points.

• Your class or course

• Your category, like SC, ST, OBC, SEBC or EBC

• Your family income

• Your marks in the last exam

• Your school or college type

• Odisha domicile

• Special status, like disability or orphan status

Some schemes are for one class only. Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent and Junior Merit are for Class 11 and 12. Pre Matric Scholarship is for Class 9 and 10. Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Yojna needs Odisha permanent residency. Family income must be up to INR 2.50 lakh a year. Higher education schemes have marks rules too. Students of Fakir Mohan University, Berhampur University and KIIT University should read the scheme page first. Your course decides which e-Medhabruti scheme fits you.

Odisha State Scholarship Amount 

The amount is not same for every scheme. Some pay a fixed amount every year. Some pay as per your course length.The table below has all 18 schemes.

Two things are good to know. Junior Merit Scholarship picks 10,000 students. Boys and girls get a 50:50 share. Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Yojna pays INR 5,000 twice. First when you join Class 9. Again when you join Class 11. This money comes on top of any other scholarship you already get. Most schemes give money only once a year. Applying here does not stop you from applying under other department schemes too.

Documents Required for Odisha State Scholarship

Keep your scanned copies ready before you start. You will need these documents:

• Aadhaar Number

• Your photograph

• Income Certificate

• Caste Certificate

• Divyang Certificate, if it applies to you

• Resident Certificate

• Bank passbook front page with account details

• Matriculation Certificate, except for non-matriculate ITI courses

• Previous Examination Certificate

The list changes with the scheme. For Odisha Post Matric Scholarship you need a caste certificate. For Banishree you need a Divyang certificate. Check scheme page before you upload anything.

Odisha State Scholarship Registration Process

Registration works through Aadhaar. You cannot make an account without it. Here are the registration rules.

• Aadhaar is needed to get scholarship money

• Registration is Aadhaar-based

• One Aadhaar number gives one account only

• Your Aadhaar number must be correct

• OTP comes on the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar

Students of Siksha O Anusandhan University, Centurion University and Ravenshaw University should keep that mobile with them. You cannot skip the OTP step.

Odisha State Scholarship Apply Online: Check steps

Here are 10 easy steps you can follow for applying online:.

1. Open scholarship.odisha.gov.in.

2. You can register as new user.

3. Old users can log in.

4. Enter your Aadhaar number then proceed.

5. Enter your User ID and Password.

6. Select Department name and Scheme name.

7. Fill in your details.

8. Then click Save as Draft .

9. Click Next to move ahead.

10. Download it and take a print out.

How to Check Odisha State Scholarship Application Status

The portal has a Know Your Status page. You can track your form there. Follow these points below:

• Open scholarship.odisha.gov.in

• Go to Know Your Status

• Enter your Aadhaar Number/Application Number

• Enter OTP 

• Your form status will show on screen

Your form goes to your institution first. Then it goes to the department. Generally it depends scheme to scheme. Students of Utkal University and NIT Rourkela should talk to their college scholarship section.

Why Was My Odisha State Scholarship Application Rejected?

Small mistakes  cause most rejections. Read these points before you submit.

• Entering Wrong Aadhaar number.

• Using someone else's Aadhaar Card.

• Filing two applications when the scheme does not allow it.

• Wrong Bank account information.

• Applying for a DBT scheme without linking bank account to Aadhaar

• Thinking Freeship Card is enough.

Freeship Card only shows that you are eligible for scheme. The application still has to be checked and sanctioned. Students joining KIIT University or Centurion University should remember this during admission.
